Tsavo West National Park
Tsavo West National Park is a world renown wildlife viewing spot. Here you lay eyes – and lenses - on the almost extinct basra reed warbler, corncrake, buffalos, leopards, cheetah, lions, hippos, rhino and elephant, crocodiles, vervet monkeys, antelope, baboons and giraffes.
This park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise and the range of flora is truly captivating: vast acacia dot the woodland and grassland connected to the scrubland through riverine vegetation. Rocky ridges in the park are a major geo-physical attraction added together to the Mzima Springs, the source of Mombasa’s water.
The springs are recharged daily with hundreds of millions of litres of crystal clear water by underground streams emanating from Chyulu Hills. At Mzima, you will view all sorts of animals gathering for a drink particularly in the dry season. You will be able to spot the crocodiles and the hippo.
Amboseli National Park
The Amboseli National Park is renowned for its huge elephant herds. Actually, the park is one the best places in Africa to get really close to free-raging elephants according to most elephants viewing enthusiasts. You will also see buffalo, black rhino, zebra, wildebeest and other plain animals. It’s an adventure identifying the over 40 types of raptors in the park and over 400 bird species such as the hannerkops, crakes, kingfishers and pelicans.
Samburu Game Reserve
This hot and arid wilderness is home to plenty of animals including the big five i.e lion, African elephant, Cape buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros. Samburu National Reserve is also home to the endangered Grevy's Zebra and also gerenuks - all rare to find elsewhere. The park is also a haven for birth watchers as it boasts close to 400 bird species. It is connected, by way of a bridge, to the Buffalo Springs National Park.
Lake Nakuru National Park
The park lies in Central Kenya, 140km north-west of Nairobi, in Nakuru district of the Rift Valley Province. The ecosystem comprises of the lake, surrounded by mainly wooded and bushy grasslands. The park supports a wide ecological diversity with Flamingos (Greater and Lesser) and other water birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhino and buffaloes and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450 species.
Maasai Mara National Reserve
Maasai Mara is known as one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves, situated in southwest Kenya and is part of the northern section of the Serengeti National Park. Famous for the abundance of the big cats, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and the Great Wildebeest Migration and the Maasai people, well known for their distinctive custom and dress.
Day 1: Nairobi - Tsavo West National Park
You will depart Nairobi in the morning and drive along Nairobi-Mombassa highway towards the Tsavo West National Park arriving at the camp in time for lunch. You will do an afternoon and evening game drive which shall include a visit to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary.You will then retun to the lodge for dinner and to rest for the night.
Day 2: Tsavo West National Park – Amboseli National Park
After an early breakfast, you visit Mzima Springs then depart the Tsavo West National Park towards the Amboseli National Park driving through "Shetani Lava Flows” to Amboseli National Park , arriving at the camp in time for lunch. After lunch you will have an afternoon and evening game drive that will last till the evening and then you will return to the camp for dinner and then rest for the night.
Day 3: Amboseli National Park
You will have a full day at the Amboseli National Park where you will conduct game drives around the park while having a view of Mount Kilimanjaro. You will have all your meals at the camp.
Day 4: Amboseli National Park – Mount Kenya
Depart Amboseli in the morning and drive via Nairobi to the lower slopes of Mt. Kenya with hot or picnic lunch en route. Afternoon optional visit to the Mau Mau caves in Mt. Kenya Forest. Dinner and overnight at the Naro Moru campsite.
Day 5: Mount Kenya - Samburu National Reserve
Depart in the morning and proceed north across the equator to the Samburu National Reserve arriving at the camp in time for lunch. There will be an afternoon and evening game drive that will last until sunset after which you will return to the camp for dinner and to spend the night.
Day 6: Samburu National Reserve
Full day in Samburu, a beautiful and game abundant park, home to rarely found species such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy's zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe. Morning and afternoon game drives, with an optional cultural visit to a local Samburu village. All meals and overnight at camp.
Day 7: Samburu National Reserve - Lake Nakuru National Park
Depart Samburu after breakfast and drive to the floor of the Rift Valley - to Lake Nakuru National Park with a brief stop at Nyahururu Thomson Falls for lunch. Arrive Lake Nakuru National Park in time for an afternoon and evening game drive till dinner and overnight at the camp/guest house.
Day 8: Lake Nakuru National Park – Maasai Mara National Reserve
You shall depart the Lake Nakuru National Park after having breakfast and drive further along the floor of the Rift Valley towards the Maasai Mara National Reserve arriving at the camp in time for lunch. After lunch you will have an afternoon and evening game drive and then return to the camp for dinner and to rest for the night.
Day 9 – Day 10: Maasai Mara National Reserve
You will spend two days in the Maasai Mara and this will consist of morning and afternoon game drives with an optional visit to a local Maasai village. All meals will be served at the camp.
Day 11: Maasai Mara National Reserve - Nairobi
You will depart the Maasai Mara National Reserve in the morning after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi with a hot lunch or picnic lunch en route, arriving in Nairobi in the late afternoon.
