Day 1: Arrival at Kigali
On arrival in Rwanda, you will be welcomed by our representative and transfer to Kigali for a short Safari briefing. Overnight at a hotel in Kigali.
Day 2: Kigali – Nyungwe
After breakfast, you will drive southwest to Nyungwe forest National Park. En route visit the Butare town which is the country’s 2nd capital after Kigali. Here visit the National Museum, National University and the Botanical gardens. Proceed and have another stopover in Nyanza for a visit to the Old King Mwami’s palace. Nyungwe forest is on a high elevation and simply placed on a 970 square kilometers land and it is very apparent that it creates its own climate from its own biodiversity. Upon arrival in Nyungwe, participate in the evening forest walk.
Dinner and overnight at hotel or lodge.
Day 3: Nyungwe Chimps trekking.
After a morning breakfast, you will head to the Park headquarters for chimp trek briefing. After this you will then go for chimp trek in the forest. The time taken to encounter the Chimps is unpredictable but usually takes between 3- 10 hours.
Along the way, you will encounter other primates species found in this Park such as the Silver monkey, Owl faced monkey, Ruwenzori colobus, L’hoests monkey, and the Grey cheeked Mangabey and so many others.
Return for dinner and overnight at hotel or lodge.
Day 4: Nyungwe Canopy Walk
After breakfast, you will set out for a forest walk in Nyungwe to Walk on the second African Highest Canopy or Natural walk for water fall in the morning. After lunch time, search for the Colobus Monkeys. En route, you will encounter different bird species together with different flora and fauna.
Return to the hotel / lodge for lunch, relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at a hotel or lodge.
Day 5: Nyungwe – Kibuye
After breakfast, depart for Kibuye; in the beautiful lake resort of Lake Kivu. Lake Kivu is one of the greatest Lakes in Rwanda, and is in the Albertine (western) Rift valley, a part of the Great Rift Valleys.
The lake is a 2650 Square kilometer freshwater expanse and the largest of all the lakes that fill the valleys of Rwanda. Spend the afternoon by the Lake shores. Overnight at a hotel or lodge.
Day 6: Kibuye – Musanze
After breakfast, drive to Musanze (ex- Ruhengeri) the base town for mountain gorillas. Visit of IBYIWACU CULTURAL VILLAGE; spend your evening at leisure. Overnight at a hotel or lodge.
Day 7: Golden Monkeys trekking
After a morning breakfast, you will have a briefing from the rangers as you prepare you for Golden monkey trekking. Golden monkeys are very rare and so in Rwanda are only found here. Return back to the Lodge for lunch and spend the rest of the afternoon touring the town.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel or lodge.
Day 8: Gorilla Trekking – Kigali
Transfer to Virunga National park for the first Gorilla trekking, where you have to be at ORTPN Office at 7AM for a short briefing then Gorilla trekking. Transfer to Kigali after Gorilla trekking.
Overnight at the hotel or lodge.
Day 9: Kigali city tour - departure.
After breakfast, have Kigali city tour including Gisozi Genocide memorial site/museum. Thereafter proceed to the airport for your departure flight.
