Chobe Day Trip

There are day trip tours to Chobe, which begins with a boat ride across the Zambezi, followed by a game viewing cruise on the Chobe River. After a lavish lunch one can enjoy a game drive into the park in open safari vehicles before meandering back to Livingstone. For lengthier Chobe safari experiences, Bushracks has selected some of the finest accommodation and safari operators the area has to offer.

The Royal Livingstone Express

The Royal Livingstone Express – a classic ‘time travel’ back n history – using beautiful steam locomotives and carriages lovingly restored. In this magnificent, romantic steam powered train we offer ‘The Dinner Excursion’ which includes a run along 20 km of the historic Mulobezi railway line through the heart of the Zambezi River Valley. Passengers travel leisurely towards the sunset through the African countryside whilst enjoying fine cuisine and excellent wines provided by Sun International’s royal Living Restaurant.
The Royal Livingstone Express is made up of five carriages, two dining cars, a kitchen, lounge car and an observation car, and is pulled by either a 10th Class or a 12th class locomotive. Both engines were built by the Northern British Locomotive Company in the 1930’s. Loco 156 was renovated by the famous wildlife artist David Sheppard and donated to Zambian National Heritage in 1971. It was restored again by Bushtracks in 2005. The beautiful Wembley Dining Car was built by the Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company and went on display in London at the British Empire Exhibition in 1924. It was shipped to the union of South Africa and entered service on 19th May 1926. It was named ‘Wembley’ after the exhibition that was held in Wembley, England. Don’t miss this unique chance of experiencing the sights and sounds of Zambia through the eyes of the early pioneers in the classic age of steam over 100 years ago.
