Tour Lake Nakuru (a UNESCO heritage site) which is one of the most famous lakes in the Rift Valley and is known for its hundreds of thousands of pink flamingos. The Lake Nakuru National Park has a sanctuary to protect Rothschild giraffes, black rhinos and white rhinos. Water buck are very common and both the Kenyan species are found here. Other predators you can see here include the lion, cheetah and leopard.

Explore Naivasha Town and Lake Naivasha which is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus. The lake is almost 13kms across, but its waters are shallow with an average depth of five metres. The lake area varies greatly according to rainfall, with an average range between 114 and 991 sq kms. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores. Giraffes wander among the acacia, Buffalo wallow in the swamps and Colobus monkeys call from the treetops while the Lakes large hippo population sleep the day out in the shallows.

Day 1: Nakuru or Naivasha

Drive from your place of residence to your preferred destination to arrive in time for lunch. Dinner and overnight at preferred lodge.

Explore Lake Nakuru or Naivasha

Spend the whole day exploring Lake Nakuru or Naivasha. Take some time to enjoy the lodge facilities.

Return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Departure

Early morning wake up call to have breakfast. Check out of the lodge thereafter for your departure.

Activities to do at Nakuru:

1. Visit Lake Nakuru National park, home to over 450 species of birds which is a heaven for any avid bird watchers. The park is also a sanctuary to the highly-endangered black Rhino and abounds with other game such as buffalos, lions and the elusive leopard.
2. Visit Menengai Crater - Located eight kilometres from Nyahururu - Nakuru main road, Menengai Crater, a dormant volcano is the second largest crater in the world and plunges 483 metres from the rim.The volcano was formed about 200,000 years ago. Menengai is one of the best-preserved calderas in the world. The crater floor is ideal for hiking. The summit is accessible by foot or vehicle.
3. Visit the Olkaria Geothermal Spa which is located inside Hell's Gate National Park.
4. Tour Lord Egerton Castle - Built by Lord Maurice Egerton, the castle hoping that the woman he fell in love with would agree to live in it, but she turned his proposal down and broke his heart. She had turned down his first offer to stay in his first six-bedroom house calling it a chicken coop and when he built the castle, she did not accept his proposal either. The castle is located about 12km from Nakuru Town.
5. Visit the Baboon cliff and its lookout point offer finest view across the lake and over the shimmering fringe of pink around the lake's white shores. There is a nature trail of 100 meters long which winds its way along the cliff. Picnic tables and lavatories are available.
6. Explore the Kariandusi Pre-historic Site - This Pre-historic site was discovered by the Leakey's in 1928. The fossils excavated include the hand axes of the Stone Age period, a molar of an elephant with a straight tusk, algae skeletons and knives. It is a short distance from the Nairobi - Nakuru Highway in Gilgil.
7. Hyrax Hill Prehistoric Site - The famous Leakey family discovered this Neolithic site in 1927, and excavations began in 1937 to reveal fossils dating back to 1500 B.C. They found tombs, human settlements and skeletons of 19 bodies. These and other fossils are preserved in the Hyrax Hill Prehistoric Site and Museum.
8. Take a tour to Kigio Wildlife Conservancy - This community owned conservancy is in Gilgil. It has about 3,500 wildlife animals that include buffalos, elands, waterbucks, leopards, Rothschild giraffes, hyenas and hippos.
9. Nightlife and Entertainment in Nakuru - There are many wonderful places to visit when it comes to the Nakuru nightlife. There are all sorts of clubs and bars you can visit, including: Dimples disco, Mahogany, Millennium, Taidy's, Tickles, Summit and Coco Savana Disco. Activities at Lake Naivasha:

1. Game Watching - The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores. Giraffes wander among the acacia, Buffalo wallow in the swamps and Colobus monkeys call from the treetops while the Lakes large hippo population sleep the day out in the shallows.
2. Explore Oloiden and Sonachi - The region surrounding the Lake is well worth exploring. There are two more smaller lakes nearby, Oloidien, and Sonachi, a bright green cater lake.
3. Tour Hell.s Gate National Park which lies beside the lake - This Park was named for its pair of massive red tinged cliffs framing a geothermically active interior of steam vents and bubbling springs. The park is home to a profusion of plains game and bird life. Walking is permitted, making it ideal for hiking, biking, and rock climbing.
4. Boat trips on the lake are widely available, and is a great way to spend an afternoon or morning. You will also experience the stunning Sunsets with the haunting calls of a Fish Eagle high over the Lake bringing the day to a perfect end.
